Selective school entry at 11+ and 13+ assesses more than knowledge: schools look for academic readiness, reasoning ability, and performance under time pressure.
UK (11+ / 13+) typically involves formal assessments in English and Mathematics, often combined with verbal and non-verbal reasoning and, in many cases, interviews. At 13+, schools place greater emphasis on academic maturity — comprehension, structured thinking, and clear written expression.
UAE & GCC admissions at comparable ages are usually school-led and multi-factor. Many leading schools assess through English and Mathematics tests, reasoning or cognitive assessments (e.g., CAT-style), review of school reports, and interviews.
